You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first heard about staying in Praga Północ – honestly, most people still think of this side of the Vistula as Warsaw’s “other” district. But the Stara Praga Superior Apartment completely changed my perspective on this neighborhood, and I mean that in the best way possible. The building sits right on Brzeska Street, which is actually perfect because you’re close enough to the action but far enough from the main tourist chaos. The apartment itself feels like someone’s stylish cousin decided to rent out their place – there’s this authentic Polish charm mixed with modern touches that don’t feel forced or overly designed. I loved how the windows let in this gorgeous morning light, and honestly, the coffee tastes better when you’re making it in a real kitchen instead of those tiny hotel setups.

What really sold me on this place was how it sits in the heart of what locals call “the real Warsaw.” Walk five minutes in any direction and you’ll hit these incredible milk bars (bar mleczny) that haven’t changed since the 1980s, plus some of the city’s best street art – I’m talking massive murals that rival anything in Berlin. The Praga district has this gritty, artistic vibe that feels completely different from the polished Old Town across the river. You can actually hear the trams rumbling by in the early morning, which sounds annoying but somehow becomes this comforting urban lullaby after a day or two. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that overly formal hotel reception drama, just practical instructions and genuine recommendations about where to grab the best pierogi nearby (spoiler: it’s definitely not the touristy places).

I’ll be honest, this isn’t the spot if you want to stumble out your door directly onto the Royal Route or into Castle Square. But here’s the thing – the tram connections are actually fantastic, and you’ll find yourself exploring parts of Warsaw that most visitors completely miss. Plus, there’s something satisfying about coming “home” to a neighborhood where you start recognizing the same dog walkers and corner shop owners. The apartment scored an 8.8 rating, which feels right – it’s not trying to be some luxury palace, but everything works exactly as it should. The shower has proper water pressure (thank god), the wifi doesn’t cut out during video calls, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for a week. I ended up extending my stay an extra two nights, partly because I wasn’t ready to leave this little corner of Warsaw, and partly because the rate was so reasonable compared to those sterile chain hotels downtown.

  Generalnie bez zarzutu. Wiem, że niektórym gościom nie odpowiada pewnie miejsce lokalizacji i widok z okna. Dla nas jednak dodawało to klimatu. Okolica, pomimo wyglądu, jest bezpieczna. Warszawa, którą mało kto zna.

  Apartament bardzo przestronny, urządzony pięknie i funkcjonalnie. Duży salon z bardzo wygodną kanapą, kuchnia z dużą lodówką, zmywarką, płytą indukcyjną i mikrofalą w zabudowie. Wszystko nowe i lśniące czystością, można poczuć się jak w domu. Parking podziemny zamykany bramą oraz ogrodzony teren, wejście do budynku na kod – to wszystko dawało poczucie bezpieczeństwa. Miejsce jest dobrze skomunikowane, kilka minut na piechotę do metra Dworzec Wileński, linie autobusowe i tramwajowe. Bardzo szybko można dostać się do centrum Warszawy.
