I almost walked past Studio Chodecka the first time I was looking for it – it’s one of those places that doesn’t scream “hotel” from the street, which honestly ended up being part of its charm. The entrance has this understated, almost residential feel that made me wonder if I’d gotten the address wrong. But once you’re inside, it all clicks. The space feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-designed apartment than a typical hotel, and I mean that in the best possible way.

The rooms are what really sold me on this place. They’ve got this minimalist thing going on, but not in that sterile, everything-white way that makes you afraid to touch anything. Actually, the design feels pretty thoughtful – lots of natural light, decent storage space (which, let’s be real, most city hotels completely botch), and the beds are surprisingly comfortable for what’s technically a 3-star spot. I stayed there during a particularly busy weekend and was genuinely shocked at how quiet it was at night. You’d think with a 9.2 rating they might be overselling themselves, but honestly? The rating makes sense once you experience the attention to detail. Small stuff, like actually good water pressure in the shower and blackout curtains that, you know, actually block out light.

What I appreciated most was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area – not just the tourist spots everyone recommends, but the kind of local intel that actually matters. They pointed me toward this little café about two blocks away that I never would’ve found on my own, and gave me the heads up about which streets get crazy busy during rush hour. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that over-the-top hospitality theater some places put on. Just friendly, efficient people who seemed like they actually wanted to help. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I wanted to feel less like a tourist and more like someone who actually belongs in the neighborhood for a few days.
