When I first walked in, I was struck by how much light floods through these massive windows – and I mean massive. The two bedrooms are properly sized too, not those cramped boxes you sometimes get where you’re basically sleeping in a closet with delusions of grandeur.

What really sold me on this spot was how ridiculously close it is to Central Station – we’re talking a genuine five-minute walk, maybe seven if you’re dragging a heavy suitcase and stopping to grab coffee along the way. I mean, you can literally hear the trains if you listen for them, but it’s not that annoying rumbling that keeps you up at night. The air conditioning works like a dream (thank god, because summer here can be brutal), and honestly, after spending time in places where the AC sounds like a helicopter landing on your roof, the quiet hum of this system was refreshing. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s really nice apartment than some sterile hotel room with generic art and scratchy towels.

The neighborhood itself has this lived-in feel that I love – there’s a little bakery around the corner that does incredible pastries (get there before 9 AM or the good stuff’s gone), and you’ve got that perfect mix of locals going about their business and travelers figuring out their next move. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving, but honestly, with the station so close, you probably won’t need a car anyway. The 8.9 rating makes total sense to me because while everything works beautifully and the space is genuinely comfortable, it’s not trying to be something it’s not. Sometimes the elevator takes forever – I’m talking European elevator forever, which is its own special category of slow – but the climb isn’t terrible if you’re feeling energetic. Check-in was smooth, no weird key card drama or confused desk staff, just straightforward and friendly. You know what really impressed me though? The little details, like having enough outlets near the bed for your phone and laptop, proper hangers in the closet instead of those weird security ones that don’t work, and a shower with actual water pressure. It’s those things that make you realize someone who travels actually thought about this setup.
