The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out during video calls (learned this the hard way at other places), the hot water is consistently hot, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into a marshmallow. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that hovering-around-the-desk-for-twenty-minutes nonsense. The staff actually remembers your name, which is sort of rare these days.

What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from the Palace of Culture (yeah, that massive Stalin-era tower everyone has opinions about), but you’re also near these tiny cafes where the baristas will judge your coffee order in the most endearing way possible. There’s this little pharmacy next to a used bookstore around the corner that somehow captures everything I love about Warsaw – practical and intellectual at the same time. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car here. The trams run constantly and you can walk to most places you’d want to see.

I ended up extending my stay twice, partly because the rates are reasonable but mostly because it felt like having a temporary apartment in the city rather than just passing through. The other guests tend to be a mix of business travelers and people like me who stumbled into longer stays – everyone’s friendly in that unforced way where you might chat in the hallway but nobody’s organizing group activities. It’s perfect for people who want to experience Warsaw like a temporary resident rather than a tourist checking boxes.
