Hotel Description
So I stumbled across SuperApart Nowogrodzka 20 during one of those frantic last-minute booking sessions, and honestly? Best accident ever. The place sits right on Nowogrodzka Street, which sounds fancy but it’s actually this perfectly lived-in Warsaw neighborhood where you’ll find actual Polish people doing their grocery shopping instead of just tourists taking selfies.
First thing that hits you is how quiet it gets once you’re inside – I mean, you’re still in the city center, so there’s that gentle hum of Warsaw life outside, but the building itself has this solid, almost cocooning feeling. The apartments (and they really are proper apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be apartments) have this unpretentious charm that I wasn’t expecting from a 3-star place. You know what I love? The kitchens actually work. Like, really work. I made pierogi from scratch in mine, which sounds ridiculous but the local market on Hoza Street is literally a five-minute walk and I got carried away with the fresh ingredients.
The 9.0 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – no marble lobbies or doormen in elaborate uniforms – but everything just… functions. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out during video calls (learned this the hard way at other places), the hot water is consistently hot, and the beds are firm enough that you don’t feel like you’re sinking into a marshmallow. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that hovering-around-the-desk-for-twenty-minutes nonsense. The staff actually remembers your name, which is sort of rare these days.
What really sold me on this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re walking distance from the Palace of Culture (yeah, that massive Stalin-era tower everyone has opinions about), but you’re also near these tiny cafes where the baristas will judge your coffee order in the most endearing way possible. There’s this little pharmacy next to a used bookstore around the corner that somehow captures everything I love about Warsaw – practical and intellectual at the same time. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but honestly, you don’t need a car here. The trams run constantly and you can walk to most places you’d want to see.
I ended up extending my stay twice, partly because the rates are reasonable but mostly because it felt like having a temporary apartment in the city rather than just passing through. The other guests tend to be a mix of business travelers and people like me who stumbled into longer stays – everyone’s friendly in that unforced way where you might chat in the hallway but nobody’s organizing group activities. It’s perfect for people who want to experience Warsaw like a temporary resident rather than a tourist checking boxes.
The concierge service in Warsaw can arrange exclusive historical tours, secure concert tickets, and organize visits to nearby Chopin sites and Mazovian countryside.
