There’s this clever Murphy bed situation that doesn’t feel like you’re wrestling with furniture every night, and the kitchenette has enough counter space to actually prep meals (not just instant ramen, though let’s be honest, I did plenty of that too). The bathroom’s tiny but functional, with decent water pressure – always a gamble in older city center buildings. What really got me was the light – there’s this big window that catches morning sun perfectly, and since you’re right in the thick of things on Sienna, you get this great street energy without feeling like you’re living in a fishbowl.

Location-wise, you’re golden here. I could walk to pretty much everything I wanted to see, and there’s this little café around the corner that locals actually go to – you’ll know it by the smell of fresh pastry that hits you every morning around 8am. The street itself gets lively in the evenings but settles down by midnight, so you’re not dealing with constant noise (though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs just in case). Parking is… well, it’s city center parking, so good luck with that. I ended up using the garage two blocks over, which wasn’t cheap but saved my sanity. The building entrance is a bit tricky to find the first time – it’s tucked between a pharmacy and what looks like an abandoned storefront but is actually a vintage shop that’s only open on weekends.

What impressed me most was how everything just worked. The WiFi was solid, the heating responded when you adjusted it, and checkout was painless. Sure, there’s no concierge or room service – this isn’t that kind of place – but the owner left detailed notes about everything from the quirky way the shower handle turns to recommendations for late-night food delivery. It felt less like a hotel room and more like crashing at a friend’s place who has better taste in furniture than you do.
