Look, I’ll be honest with you – the Ursynów Lavish Apartment is one of those places that sounds fancier than it actually is, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. When I first pulled up to this 4-star spot in Warsaw’s Ursynów district, I wasn’t blown away by the exterior, but once you get inside, there’s definitely some charm to work with. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-appointed friend’s place than a sterile hotel room, which I actually prefer when I’m traveling for more than just a quick weekend.

What really surprised me was how quiet it gets here in the evenings – and I mean properly quiet, not that fake “quiet” you get in city center hotels where you’re still hearing trams at 2 AM. Ursynów is this massive residential district that most tourists never see, full of these communist-era housing blocks that have been spruced up over the years. You’re about 20 minutes from Old Town by metro (the Ursynów Centrum station is your friend), but honestly, there’s something refreshing about being where actual Varsovians live and work. The local Tesco is right there when you need supplies, and there’s this little kebab place – I think it’s called Istanbul – that stays open late and makes proper döner, not the tourist stuff.

The apartment itself hits that sweet spot of being comfortable without trying too hard. The kitchen actually works (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case), the WiFi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and the shower has decent pressure. Is it Instagram-perfect? Not really. The furniture feels a bit dated and there’s some wear around the edges that shows this place gets regular use. But you know what? That 6.5 rating actually makes sense when you factor in the location and price point. I mean, you’re not getting Palace vibes, but you’re also not paying Palace prices. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with it all night, and there’s enough space to actually unpack your stuff instead of living out of a suitcase. If you’re the type who needs to be within stumbling distance of the Royal Castle and doesn’t mind paying extra for it, this probably isn’t your spot. But if you want a decent base for exploring Warsaw without the tourist markup, and you don’t mind a short metro ride to get to the main attractions, the Ursynów Lavish Apartment does what it says on the tin – just maybe adjust your expectations around the “lavish” part.
