You know what, I wasn’t expecting much from Velvet Łucka when I first booked it – honestly, the name threw me off a bit and I’d never heard of anyone staying in this part of Wola. But here’s the thing about Warsaw: some of the best finds are tucked away in these residential neighborhoods where actual Poles live, not just tourists stumbling around the Old Town. The hotel sits on Łucka street, which is this quiet stretch that feels more like a local secret than a hotel district. I mean, you’re not going to accidentally wander here – you have to actually know where you’re going, which I sort of loved once I figured out the area.

The building itself has this interesting mix of old Warsaw architecture with modern touches that actually work together (unlike some of the renovation disasters you see around the city). Check-in was smooth – no pretentious lobby nonsense, just efficient and friendly staff who seemed genuinely happy to help rather than going through the motions. My room was on the 9th floor, and honestly, the elevator ride up gave me time to appreciate that this place takes itself seriously without being stuffy about it. The room had this velvet-heavy design theme that could’ve been tacky but somehow felt cozy instead – think rich textures and warm lighting that made me want to actually hang out there rather than just crash after long days of walking around the city.

What really won me over was how quiet it stayed at night, even though you’re still connected to central Warsaw. Wola has this perfect balance where you can grab dinner at local spots that don’t jack up prices for tourists, but you’re still only a tram ride away from Pałac Kultury or the main shopping areas. The neighborhood has these great little cafes and that authentic Warsaw vibe where you’ll hear more Polish than English on the streets – which I actually prefer when I’m trying to get a feel for a place. Parking was surprisingly manageable too, something you definitely can’t take for granted in this city. I stayed during what turned out to be a pretty busy weekend, and while I could hear some activity in the hallways during peak check-in times, it never felt chaotic or disruptive. The whole experience just felt… well, comfortable in a way that expensive hotels sometimes miss completely. It’s the kind of place where everything works like it should, the staff remembers your name after day two, and you start to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some generic international chain. For a 3-star place, it honestly delivers more character and genuine hospitality than plenty of fancier options I’ve tried in Warsaw.

  First of all, the apartment is in the centre of Wola district, basically centre of Warsaw, plenty of amazing places nearby. Stunning view from the 9th floor balcony on the Wola skyscrapers. The apartment is spacious and well equipped. Fast Wi-Fi network is available. Locators are eligible to use shared gym and swimming pool which was great.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is quite old, 90s style. But I wasn't expecting anything else since real photos were provided. However, you can feel the unpleasant smell a little bit. I also felt it could have been a bit cleaner. Equipment-wise, I was missing the ironing board (the iron was there).

  It’s close by the city and there are markets around.

  What could be improved: The place has clearly not been properly cleaned: some sheets, the sink and bathtub, the couch and several cups were still dirty. The cutting board still had a rest of food sticking on it
  
  The place doesn’t have glasses, just mugs and no sharp knives

  The sheets are not big enough for the beds – so you sleep on some part of an old used mattresscover. Also the sheets were very old and didn’t smell like they were washed lately.
  
  Maybe the polish instructions to enter the building are easier to understand, but with the english instructions we didn’t figure out how to get through the several security doors right away. The security guard had to show it to us (after seeing us trying somewhere within the building for 10 minutes)
  
  The communication wasn’t really polite. The emails didn’t even say hello or anything friendly and when we had problems with the door and called, they just hung up after a short time.
  Overall the place was a mix of old and not really clean stuff that made it very hard to feel comfortable there. Maybe you are more lucky and the place will be cleaner

  Bardzo podobała mi się lokalizacja, niesamowita okolica, blisko metra, niedaleko apartamentu znajduje się wiele sklepów i restauracji,niesamowity widok z okna!W mieszkaniu było wszystko co potrzebne, nawet pieluchy dla dziecka,cena rekompensuje niedociągnięcia
