You know what? I was honestly a bit skeptical when I first booked Verdant Apartment on Tamka Street – I mean, three stars in the heart of Śródmieście usually means you’re either getting a steal or there’s a catch. But this place actually surprised me in the best way. The location is absolutely perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the tourist chaos around the Old Town. Tamka is this quiet residential street that runs parallel to the Vistula, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from the riverfront where locals jog in the mornings and couples sit on benches watching the sunset. The building itself has that classic Warsaw charm – you know, the kind that survived everything this city’s been through – and when you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of being somewhere authentic rather than some sterile hotel chain.

The apartment setup works really well, especially if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I loved having actual counter space and a proper fridge (honestly, after weeks of tiny European hotel fridges, this felt luxurious). The windows face the courtyard, which means it’s surprisingly quiet for being so central – I was worried about street noise, but you barely hear the trams from Nowy Świat, even though you’re close enough to walk there in five minutes. Speaking of walking, everything you actually want to see is right there: the Royal Castle, Łazienki Park, all those little galleries and cafes along Krakowskie Przedmieście. But here’s the thing locals know – if you walk down to the river level, there’s this whole pathway system that takes you past the Copernicus Science Centre and eventually to the trendy Powiśle district, where you’ll find some of the best coffee in the city.

The staff really knows their stuff too, which you don’t always get with apartment-style places. They gave me this hand-drawn map (well, sort of hand-drawn) showing the best pierogi place nearby – turns out it’s this tiny spot called Zapiecek that’s tucked away on Piwna Street, and honestly, it was better than the touristy places everyone raves about. Check-in was smooth, though I’d recommend arriving before 8 PM because the building entrance can be a bit tricky to find in the dark – it’s one of those Warsaw addresses where the numbers don’t quite follow logic. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s not fancy in an Instagram way, but everything works, it’s clean, the shower has actual water pressure, and you feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood rather than a hotel bubble. I mean, there’s a small grocery store right around the corner where the owner started recognizing me after day two, and that’s exactly the kind of experience you want when you’re trying to get a feel for a city.

  Дуже сподобались апартаменти! Все було чисто, комфортно, є все необхідне: фен, утюг, прасувальна дошка, кавова машинка. Локація також зручна, поруч є кафе, магазини, недалеко метро. Господарі уважні та приємні, ми прибули у Варшаву рано вранці і нам дозволили раніше заселитись. Однозначно рекомендую!

  Świetna lokalizacja, rzut beretem do Wisły i na Nowy Świat, dookoła pełno sklepów, restauracji, parków. Okolica zadziwiająco cicha, jak na całkiem ruchliwe miejsce. Mieszkanie bardzo dobrze wyposażone, jest pralka i żelazko, kuchenka, czajnik, mikrofalówka – praktycznie pełnoprawne mieszkanie. Świetne miejsce wypadowe na dowolne miejskie aktywności.
