You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Willa Okęcie 1936 when I first booked it – honestly, the name made it sound like some stuffy historical place, and being near the airport usually means noise and concrete. But this little gem on Aleja Krakowska actually surprised me in the best way. The building really is from 1936, and they’ve done this thoughtful restoration that keeps the character without making you feel like you’re sleeping in a museum. The rooms have these lovely high ceilings and original details, but the bathrooms are completely modern (thank god, because nobody wants vintage plumbing). I stayed on the third floor facing away from the main street, and it was surprisingly quiet – you can hear the occasional plane, sure, but it’s more of a distant hum than anything disruptive.

What I really appreciated was how easy everything was without feeling impersonal. Check-in took maybe three minutes, the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner spots, and they pointed me toward this fantastic little pierogi place about a ten-minute walk away that I never would’ve found otherwise. The Włochy district isn’t exactly tourist central – it’s more of a real Warsaw neighborhood where people actually live and work – but that’s kind of what made it perfect for me. You’re close enough to hop on public transport and be in the Old Town in maybe 20 minutes, but you get to see how the city actually functions when you walk around in the evenings. There’s a decent grocery store practically next door, and I loved grabbing coffee from the little café across the street in the mornings before heading out.

The hotel itself hits that sweet spot between comfortable and unpretentious. My room had a proper desk (not just some tiny table shoved in a corner), good lighting for reading, and honestly the best shower pressure I encountered during my entire week in Poland. The breakfast was solid – nothing fancy, but fresh bread, good coffee, and enough variety that I didn’t get bored over four days. I mean, it’s not going to win any design awards, but everything just works the way it should. The Wi-Fi was fast, the heating actually heated, and housekeeping was thorough without being intrusive. If you’re the type who needs to be right in the thick of tourist attractions, this probably isn’t your spot, but if you want a genuinely comfortable base for exploring Warsaw without paying Old Town prices – and honestly, without dealing with Old Town crowds – I’d definitely stay here again. Plus, if you’re flying in or out of Chopin Airport, you literally cannot get more convenient than this without sleeping in the terminal.

  Stayed here for the second time now and will definitely be staying again! Excellent service, great owners who are always willing to help. Rooms are very clean and well designed. The hotel is conveniently located near the public transport final stops, bus and tram specifically (although at time of our 2nd stay the tram lines were under reconstruction, it was still very easy to get around by bus). You can hear the planes taking off, but it's not too noisy and you get used to it very quickly. Overall, really enjoyed our stay!

  We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is tastefully decorated, the beds are very comfortable, and the large terrace was a great place to unwind. The air conditioning in the rooms was a big plus during the hot weather. It's very convenient that there’s free street parking, and the airport is close enough to reach on foot. Would definitely recommend!

  We had a wonderful stay! The place is beautiful, with a stylish interior, comfortable beds, and a spacious terrace – perfect for relaxing. The rooms had air conditioning, which was great during the warm days. Free parking was available on the street, and the location is excellent – the airport is within walking distance. You can hear planes taking off, but it didn’t bother us. Highly recommended!

  Everything, it was m'y seconde time in a week and I've been in 4 others places. If it's the farest from down but nearest from the airport it's from far the best of my week and it will be my future location the next time. Even the take off of aircraft give a charm to this place very peacefull and by the way wee sleep very well and it's a straight line to the centrum with manies bus line to reach down town so it's the best place for the first and last day of a trip to have some rest next to the airport and in a same time you can be in the centrum's trafic in a minute. Carrefour market in the corner, ouzbek, indian, vietnamiese restaurant downstair and even Mc Donald's. Best regards
