Overview

Honestly, when I first booked the Zoliborz P&O Serviced Apartments, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect – the name sounds a bit corporate, you know? But after staying there a few times over the past couple years, I’ve got to say it’s become my go-to spot when I’m in Warsaw for more than just a quick weekend. The building sits right on Gdańska street in what’s technically the Bielany district, though locals still call this whole area Zoliborz (which can be confusing if you’re trying to navigate). What I love about this location is that you’re actually in a proper residential neighborhood – not some touristy bubble – so you get a real feel for how Varsovians live. There’s this great little bakery about two blocks down that opens stupidly early, and the smell of fresh bread drifts up to the apartments on weekend mornings. The tram stop is literally right outside, which means you can get to the Old Town in about 15 minutes without dealing with Warsaw’s increasingly nightmare traffic.

The apartments themselves are… well, they’re serviced apartments, so don’t expect boutique hotel charm, but they’re genuinely comfortable and way more spacious than most hotel rooms you’ll find in the city center. I mean, having a proper kitchen is a game-changer when you’re staying for work trips or longer visits – especially since Warsaw restaurant prices have gotten pretty steep lately. The furnishing is that sort of modern-but-safe style you see everywhere now, though the beds are actually decent (I’m picky about mattresses) and the wifi works properly, which honestly puts it ahead of some fancier places I’ve stayed. One thing to note – the building can get a bit echo-y in the hallways, particularly when people are dragging suitcases early in the morning, but once you’re inside your apartment with the door closed, it’s pretty quiet. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward too, none of that overly formal hotel theater, just practical people who know you probably want to drop your bags and get on with your day.

What really sold me on this place, though, is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’ve got Żoliborz Park just a short walk away – perfect for morning runs or when you need to clear your head after long meetings – and the area has this relaxed, almost village-like feel despite being well-connected to everything. The local market on Suzina street happens twice a week and it’s where you’ll find the best pierogi in the district (trust me on this). Sure, it’s not going to win any design awards, and the 7.5 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being spectacular. But sometimes that’s exactly what you want: a place that works well, doesn’t cost a fortune, and lets you experience Warsaw like someone who actually lives here rather than just passing through. The three-star rating might make it sound basic, but I’d choose it over some of the flashier hotels downtown any day.

Hotels in Warsaw offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this resilient metropolis, with easy access to museums, theaters, and historical landmarks.

Wonderful

Apartment is clean, has everything you need for your stay. Location is very friendly if you have a kid. Very quiet and peaceful. Alot of playgrounds and nice neighbours around.

What could be improved: The deposit is impossible to pay if you are not a part of this European banking system. But we were able to solve it at the end, so I guess there was no real problems.

An awful experience

What could be improved: The apartment in the picture is not the one we actually got!!!
In the one they gave us, most of the furniture was very old and uncomfortable. Essential equipment was missing, for instance, there were only three big towels and a small one for a family of four, one spoon only and no washing liquid in the kitchen and so on. It wasn't clean either, so I had to vacuum clean the whole apartment upon arrival, as my youngest child likes playing on the floor. A disappointment through and through. On top of everything, I was required to pay a deposit of 400 PLN beforehand, and now they want to keep half of it, because my youngest one pushed a lamp off the bedside table in her sleep - that lamp costs PLN 169 according to the IKEA website. And they could actually easily just glue it together.
This is the first time ever in my life, and I am in my late thirties and travel a lot, that I had such a poor experience that I felt I should warn others.

Good

The bed was clean, the location was quiet. That's all that was good about the apartment.

What could be improved: The apartment was not kept clean, especially the toilet, it was brown dirty. In the kitchen there was no water boiler, I contacted the staff it was the most impolite staff I have ever met in my life. I complained and my complained was not taken into account.
