Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Bella Luna – the name sounds a bit dramatic, doesn’t it? But stepping into this place completely changed my tune. It’s tucked right in the heart of Old Town, and I mean really in it, where you can actually hear the cobblestones under your feet and catch whiffs of that amazing bread from the bakery that’s been there since forever.

The suite itself is what got me though. When they say spacious, they actually mean it – none of that hotel marketing nonsense where “spacious” means you can open your suitcase without hitting the bed. The bedroom feels like a proper room, not an afterthought, and there’s this sitting area where you can actually spread out and work or just decompress with a glass of wine. The whole place has this sort of understated elegance going on… nice linens, thoughtful lighting, but not trying too hard to impress you, you know? I particularly loved the bathroom – they’ve got one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent water pressure (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). The only minor thing is that street noise can filter in during weekend evenings, but honestly, that’s just Old Town being Old Town, and it dies down by 11 or so.

What really sets this place apart though is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re literally a two-minute walk from the main square where all the evening action happens, but far enough down the side streets that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds at your doorstep every morning. There’s this little café – I think it’s called something with “Rosa” in the name – about three doors down where locals actually go for coffee, not just visitors taking Instagram photos. The whole area comes alive differently throughout the day too… quiet and almost sleepy in the mornings, then buzzing by afternoon, then settling into this perfect evening rhythm where people are out strolling but not being crazy about it. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, by the way – no lengthy presentations about amenities I’ll never use, just genuine helpful tips about the area from someone who clearly knows it well. With a 9.5 rating, you might worry it’s too good to be true or impossibly booked, but I think it just reflects what happens when a place gets the basics really right without overthinking it.
