Hotel Description
You know what? I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Warsaw’s Old Town, and Sąsiad Syrenki hits this sweet spot that’s honestly pretty rare. The name literally means “Mermaid’s Neighbor” – which makes sense once you realize you’re basically a five-minute walk from the famous Warsaw Mermaid statue at the Market Square. The apartment sits on Nowiniarska Street, and I mean, you’re right in the thick of things but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy-chaotic like some of those places closer to Castle Square. The building itself has that classic Warsaw character – you know, the kind that survived everything this city’s been through – and the entrance on the ground floor is actually pretty easy to find (trust me, that matters when you’re dragging luggage around cobblestones).
What I really appreciated was how the space felt lived-in rather than sterile. The apartment has this comfortable, slightly eclectic vibe that reminds you someone actually put thought into making it feel like home rather than just another rental unit. The kitchen’s properly equipped – not just a mini-fridge and microwave situation – which was perfect since I grabbed some pierogi from the market and wanted to heat them up properly. The windows face the courtyard, so you get natural light without the street noise, though honestly, Nowiniarska isn’t one of those crazy busy streets anyway. I stayed there in late spring and could hear the church bells from St. John’s Cathedral in the morning, which sounds romantic but actually became my natural alarm clock. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and the shower pressure was surprisingly decent (you never know with older buildings in this part of town).
Location-wise, you’re literally surrounded by everything you came to see – the Royal Castle is maybe a seven-minute walk, and you can hit Krakowskie Przedmieście for shopping or just people-watching without breaking a sweat. But here’s the thing that really sold me: you can duck into Zapiecek for some solid traditional food, or if you’re feeling fancy, head over to Fukier for dinner, and both are basically around the corner. The 7.9 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s comfortable and authentic, and the little details work. I mean, there’s good WiFi, the heating actually functions properly (crucial if you’re visiting in winter), and check-in was smooth even though I arrived later than planned. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the stairs can be a bit narrow if you’re traveling with huge suitcases, but that’s pretty standard for this neighborhood. Overall, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying in Warsaw rather than just visiting it, if that makes sense.

The location is truly excellent, situated in a welcoming and peaceful neighborhood. It is incredibly close to Warsaw's Old Town, where you can enjoy breakfast and savor local cuisine. The ambiance of the place is very warm and inviting.
What could be improved: The overall cleanliness could benefit from a bit more attention, but it's certainly nothing excessive.Wonderful – Ran from Canada – December 18, 2023 (9/10)

Bright, modern and tastefully decorated flat in the convenient and quiet residential location of Muranow with all amenities and within walking distance from the Old Town Market Square with its cafes and restaurants.
What could be improved: The building has no lift and the flat is at the fourth floor which was fine as my colleague and I were travelling with light hand luggage.Good choice for the old town visit – Natalia from Belgium – October 2, 2022 (7/10)

Great apartment in the Old Town of Warsaw (5mins away from the main tourist attractions and restaurants). Great communication from the host throughout our stay who also accommodated an early check in. The apartment is modern, clean and has a good layout to accommodate 3 people.
What could be improved: NothingExceptional – Matias from Spain – March 16, 2023 (10/10)
The flat is very comfortable, and it was sparkling clean.
What could be improved: It is located in a 4th floor and there is not elevator… so you have to go up the stairs with the luggage. Still the stairs were quite easy to climb.Exceptional – Andrius from Lithuania – November 22, 2022 (10/10)
All facilities ar available. Great location
Disappointing – Adam from Austria – August 2, 2023 (4/10)
Very good location, well equipped, spacious and light apartment, good communication with the Host.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the apartment was not clean at all, the first two hours of our stay in Warsaw we spent vacuum cleaning, dusting the furniture, cleaning the shower and the toilet, so that we can use it at all.
